NYC State Senate District Fact Sheets on Congestion Pricing

NYC Fact Sheets : City Council | State Assembly | State Senate | U.S. Congress

An analysis of 2000 Census data, done by the Tri-State Campaign and the Pratt Center for Community Development, shows that, in every New York State Senate district in New York City, the vast majority of workers would not be affected by a congestion pricing fee as they do not drive to work alone in what would become the congestion pricing zone (Manhattan below 86th Street). In none of the 26 Senate districts in NYC do more than 6.4% of workers drive alone to the congestion pricing zone, and in only three districts do more than 5% of workers drive alone to the CPZ. Furthermore, vehicle-owning households in every Senate district in NYC are wealthier than households without access to a vehicle.

The fact sheets contain, for each Senate district in NYC, a breakdown of commuting patterns by mode and destination, vehicle ownership statistics, and the average incomes of vehicle-owning households and non-vehicle-owning households.
